One in every 19 people 'now uses Facebook'
In an open letter this month on the company blog, founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the social networking site now has over 350 million users around the world.
This equates to one person in every 19 in the entire world, the organisation continued, with Facebook announcing that as a result, it will be reorienting its network structure so it can now simply set users' content to be available to only their friends, friends of friends, or everyone.
Co-founder of the Social Media Portal Tim Gibbon said that while Facebook is reorientating its privacy structure, people could still be giving away too much information without realising.
He explained that due to the "sheer amount of information" that users submit to social networks and share with colleagues, it could "cause concern" if not properly watched over.
"With social networks possessing so much data, the obvious route of profiling and research is possible, which could be risky for organisations that debate and champion privacy issues," Mr Gibbon concluded.
In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.
