Brits offered new broadband speed checker
British people "live for broadband speed", with six out of ten residents of the UK admitting to envying their neighbours' service, according to Top 10 Broadband.
Now, the organisation has introduced its new StreetStats technology, which can be used to see the broadband providers of their neighbours and then analyse their connection speeds for the first time.
By presenting speed test data Top 10 Broadband has collected on a map, people can zoom into certain postcode areas and see other IPs in action.
Alex Buttle, the director of the organisation, said: "As our broadband StreetStats show, despite all the competition between the major UK broadband providers there's still huge variation in the speeds their customers receive - even on the same street.
"Our new speed test makes the broadband landscape more transparent than ever."
Top 10 Broadband also offers free broadband speed tests for users from small businesses in IT who are willing to visit its website.
In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.
