Fujitsu: Better technology needed for good business

21st September 2009

Online data back-up and more flexible approaches to disaster recovery may be considered following recent comments from an expert at a leading technology firm.

Chris Bone, enterprise products and solutions specialist at Fujitsu, explained that if organisations are not agile enough with their IT infrastructure, there will likely be double impact in regards to their business.

He continued: "The first one is a bottom line impact because their IT infrastructures are costing them more than they essentially should but also there are missed opportunities in terms of maximising the potential of new business ventures."

In regards to the state of the IT front on the whole, Mr Bone was quick to emphasise the need for quick decisions over the likes of online data backup: "It's no longer about the big eating the small; it's about the fast eating the slow."

Earlier this month, the Economist Intelligence Unit found that the UK ranked sixth in the world's top environments for a competitive information technology (IT) sector, scoring 70.2 out of 100.

A recent survey for Connect found that one in ten companies has lost important data as a result of a backup failure. The company has now developed a unique online backup service for SMEs to ensure they can survive any disaster.ADNFCR-1071-ID-19371008-ADNFCR
