16th September 2009

Facebook has smashed another record, with the website's owner revealing the facility has now got over 300 million users worldwide.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the feat in his blog on Facebook, stating that the number is large but is only the start of the goal to connect everyone possible.

Mr Zuckerberg continued: "Because we want to make it as easy and fast as possible for the world to connect, one of the things we think a lot about is how to make Facebook perform even faster and more efficiently as we grow."

He added that a lot of "fun and important challenges" are up-and-coming in the world of social networking for the company to overcome, with many strategies requiring a rethink to allow information to flow freely across the web.

Facebook was founded on February 4th 2004 and employs over 8900 people around the globe, predominantly in its headquarters in Palo Alto, California.

In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.ADNFCR-1071-ID-19364585-ADNFCR
