Bookmarks are 'top time-saving device'
Small businesses in IT looking to maximise the speed in which they do their day-to-day tasks ought to look at some of the more basic things which have always been available to them, it has been emphasised.
V3.co.uk explained that bookmarks are the best resource to use when on the web.
Shaun Nichols of V3 explained: "As the internet progresses and companies get even more creative with addresses and top-level domains, bookmarks could become even more important."
He added that despite all the changes which have faced the online environment in the last few years, "the trusty old bookmark system has remained a staple of life on the web".
Others which made the list included RSS feeds, spell check, autocomplete, podcasts and videoconferencing, which the website argues are indispensable to the average small business in IT.
An honourable mention, perhaps unsurprisingly, was also given to Wikipedia, a website launched on January 15th 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger which now operates in 240 languages and is perpetually updated by the web community.
According to a recent survey by Connect, the two biggest IT headaches for businesses were 'everyday hassles with IT' (37 per cent) and 'security concerns' (32 per cent).
