Disaster recovery is 'no longer optional'

According to the technology specialists at CA, it only takes one problem, whether it is expected or completely surprising, to derail operations within a firm.

It explained that all businesses need to identify the processes and resources that are genuinely business critical, while developing a set of realistic and necessary objectives of the recovery system to control these processes and desired resources.

CA added that organisations must sit down and determine just how they can achieve disaster recovery objectives as efficiently and simply as possible.

It concluded: "Having an effective DR plan in place is no longer a 'nice to have' - it's a critical step for any business that wants to stay in business should the worst happen in the form of a hurricane or other disaster."

Recently, London City Airport revealed that it would be installing a disaster recovery system to aid it in times of difficulty.
