Outsourcing is 'great for small businesses in IT'

27th July 2009

Small businesses in IT are being asked to consider the benefits of adopting IT support via outsourcing as it may help streamline a company at its core.

Gary Johnstone, a senior manager at Aberdeen-based chartered accountant Anderson Anderson & Brown, told the Press and Journal that by exporting elements of a business to a separate location to a team of experts, a range of benefits will be bestowed on an organisation.

This may range from an access to great advice from dedicated specialists to the management of finances in order to iron out and unnecessary spending.

A greater focus on in-house operations can also be gained through outsourcingIT support, again highlighting the bonuses businesses can get from such an investment, Mr Johnstone added.

This opinion is also promoted by government resource Business Link, which says that outsourcing "allows you to concentrate on what you do best, save money, be more flexible and manage growth effectively".

A recent Connect survey found that the two major concerns about outsourcing services like IT support were 'loss of control' (56 per cent) and 'budget over-runs' (43 per cent).ADNFCR-1071-ID-19283093-ADNFCR
