Women in technology join together for greater good
The first dedicated recruitment showcase for women in IT has been held by womenintechnology.co.uk and the British Computer Society.
W-Tech brought together a panel of successful females from the industry to give advice to attendees while also proposing a number of remedies to be taken on board by the government and the business world in order to secure more equality in the market.
Maggie Berry, the director of womenintechnology.co.uk and the organiser of W-Tech, explained that many interesting topics were discussed at the meeting and was a "great day packed full of positive messages" about female workers in the business.
She continued: "We've received some really positive feedback and already have ideas on how to make W-Tech bigger and better next year. Thanks to all that attended for making it such a success!"
The event drew major support from computing giants, including headline sponsor Microsoft and Google as an evening sponsor.
In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.
