iPhone 'struggles in hot and cold weather'
The iPhone, the world's most popular smartphone released by Apple, is said to be prone to problems in hot weather, in news that may be of interest to IT support workers in the summer.
Due to the widespread popularity of the phone, particularly with many small businesses in IT, there may be several issues cropping up, with Apple highlighting problems to users to ensure no-one is left without a warning of things they could run into.
The company said: "Operate iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in a place where the temperature is between 0 degrees and 35 degrees C. Low or high-temperature conditions might temporarily shorten battery life or cause the device to temporarily stop working properly."
It also emphasised that by leaving phones in cars, users could also be opening themselves up to other problems as many do not account for accelerated temperatures inside vehicles.
A recent AT&T internal memo leaked onto the internet this week spoke of how hot the iPhone was in terms of sales, racking up the best-ever sales day for the chain's retail stores in the US.
In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.
