US text books could be put online

All text books could be put online in the US, potentially reaching millions of children through the medium of scholastic IT support, it has been revealed.

YUDU Media has announced that it is all for the plan and has volunteered to help work with the US government to e-publish all books to ensure the future of young people is prolonged sooner rather than later.

Chief executive officer of YUDU Richard Stephenson said that education providers and students both save money, noting that the US Government Accountability Office putting the average cost of textbooks at around $900 (£550) a year.

He continued: "Recent research also shows conclusively that readers prefer electronic sources as the top method of finding out more information on any given topic.

"Combined with eBooks environmentally-friendly credentials, the technology makes a stunning case for any education professional."

Earlier in the month, Google announced that it is interested in offering electronic versions of mass-market books by the end of the year.

According to a recent survey by Connect, the two biggest IT headaches for businesses were 'everyday hassles with IT' (37 per cent) and 'security concerns' (32 per cent).ADNFCR-1071-ID-19232837-ADNFCR
