Stone: Twitter not for sale
Twitter will not be sold despite a large number of rumours floating around regarding acquisition, according to the website's creator Biz Stone.
The online pioneer made a point of stating that the hearsay was false on an interview with ABC host Barbara Walters on American TV show the View, crushing the links that have been established between the micro-blogging website and Microsoft, Apple or Google.
Mr Stone explained that the company was still just in its infancy, noting that at only two years old, the organisation still has to spend a lot of time to iron out any more bugs in the website as well as push for even more growth.
He also emphasised that Twitter is proud to be an independent website and hopes new features will enhance the experience for new and existing users alike.
Twitter developers recently announced that the website's search facility will be improved a lot, allowing users to find links within posts through indexed results.
A recent Connect survey found that the two major concerns about outsourcing services like IT support were 'loss of control' (56 per cent) and 'budget over-runs' (43 per cent).
