Customer service is 'particularly poor' for broadband
Customer services provided by broadband companies are still not satisfactory, according to a recent report.
This week, BroadbandChoices.co.uk released its 2009 Customer Satisfaction Survey, which found that less than half of broadband users are impressed with the IT support they receive from their internet service providers (ISPs).
Furthermore, more than half of broadband users are planning to change their ISP, with many blaming the credit crunch as a major reason for their choice, alongside the poor customer backup.
Michael Phillips, the product director at the website, stated that it is clear ISPs are failing their users.
He continued: "Every time we do our survey we get inundated with customers bemoaning the after sales support they receive. This spring's survey further underlines this with customer service coming bottom across the board in terms of satisfaction."
BroadbandChoices.co.uk was launched in 2005 and is the leading UK comparison site for broadband, receiving an accreditation from Ofcom.
According to a recent survey by Connect, the two biggest IT headaches for businesses were 'everyday hassles with IT' (37 per cent) and 'security concerns' (32 per cent).
