Mozilla previews Firefox 3.5 beta

28th April 2009

Developers and private computer users may be interested to know that Mozilla has launched the newest beta version of its popular free web browser Firefox.

The organisation has promised its users that there are a number of major upgrades included in Firefox 3.5 Beta 4, particularly in regard to new features and major leaps in performance.

Relevant information has been the focus of the most recent update to the popular series of browsers, with geolocation allowing for users to get listings and details relating to the area they are based in, with Firefox telling other applications where the individual is based.

Data tools are also enhanced through the private browsing mode, with better stability also provided through the use of the TraceMonkey JavaScript engine.

Firefox was first released in 2004 following a partnership between Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross, developing the web browser as part of an experimental branch of Mozilla itself.

A recent Connect survey found that the two major concerns about outsourcing services like IT support were 'loss of control' (56 per cent) and 'budget over-runs' (43 per cent).ADNFCR-1071-ID-19143782-ADNFCR
