Spotify 'could top YouTube'
YouTube could lose out in the long-run against new emerging website Spotify, it has been stated.
According to Ben Camm Jones, the news director at Web User Magazine, YouTube is facing the very real possibility of losing traffic over the next few months due to the problems it has faced with the music recording industry.
He said that Last.fm and Napster are still key competitors of YouTube, which is still continuing to fight against the Performing Rights Society, but a new competitor is coming through and threatening the dominance of one of the world's most established media website.
Mr Camm-Jones said that "originally it looked like that might be resolved quite quickly but it's dragging out so I think YouTube could lose out to Spotify".
Spotify took its first step in becoming a music platform by launching libspotify on April 7th, adding that it allows third-party developers to create extensions to its service to enhance the user experience.
According to a recent survey by Connect, the two biggest IT headaches for businesses were 'everyday hassles with IT' (37 per cent) and 'security concerns' (32 per cent).
