Windows 7 users asked to return to Vista

8th April 2009

Users who are currently testing Windows 7, Microsoft's newest operating system currently undergoing beta scrutiny, have been asked to return to Vista.

According to developers at the organisation, the newest build of Windows 7 is undergoing constructive criticism from a number of computer owners but it is necessary for them to hold back from simply installing the previous version of the experimental operating system.

The company states that this is due to the fact people will be installing Windows 7 directly on top of Vista, meaning that to get true feedback from user experimentation, people must revert.

Microsoft stated: "We're always humbled by the excitement around the releases and by the support and enthusiasm from those that choose to run our pre-releases.

"In return we hope we are providing you with a great release to work with at each stage of the evolution of the product."

New features in Windows 7 include an improved taskbar, Jump Lists and improved device management.

According to a recent survey by Connect, the two biggest IT headaches for businesses were 'everyday hassles with IT' (37 per cent) and 'security concerns' (32 per cent).
