42% 'not happy with broadband connection'
Around four out of ten people in the UK are not satisfied with the service they receive from their broadband provider, it has been found in a recent survey.
In data presented by uSwitch, 42 per cent of respondents to a questionnaire said their connection was either unreliable, slow or not backed up with an effective problem-solving helpline.
The company found that the least-liked provider of internet is AOL Broadband, a company which finished bottom for six of the awards.
Furthermore, BT, Orange and AOL - which hold around 50 per cent of the market share of internet providing between them - held the bottom three spots for overall satisfaction.
uSwitch's communications expert Steve Weller said: "It seems that some of the more established broadband companies are slowing down with age and have lost sight of what customers want - speed and reliability, backed up by efficient customer support should things go wrong."
Earlier this month, uSwitch commented on Ofcom's announcement to allow providers to develop superfast broadband, stating that it is a very positive step for the industry.
A recent Connect survey found that the two major concerns about outsourcing services like IT support were 'loss of control' (56 per cent) and 'budget over-runs' (43 per cent).
