Added security for new browser

20th March 2009

Microsoft has upped the IT security in its latest web browser, it has been revealed.

The firm has released Internet Explorer 8 which includes additional safeguarding measures to keep users safe from hackers and viruses.

One key area tackled in this program is tightening up security methods when it comes to malware and phishing websites which attempt to carry out scams and place potentially dangerous applications on the computer.

A further feature is the addition of a tool which allows tabs to be stored as individual processes rather than collectively, meaning that if one crashes the damage is contained to the affected website and a user will not lose their entire session.

Microsoft has also revealed that Internet Explorer 8 will come as standard in its Windows 7 operating system.

Earlier this week, a hacker breached the IT security of Safari web browser in just ten seconds at the Pwn2Own meet.

In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.
