Small businesses in IT should 'use video when marketing online'
A number of small businesses in IT aiming to make the most of their marketing campaign ought to use video to enhance their standing in the online environment, according to an internet expert.
Phil Turnbull, the marketing manager at international hosting company Hostaway, said managers stood to benefit from this technique at a time when "video is definitely immersing itself into the market a lot more".
He added that many techniques have been used for a long time and continued: "People aren't really as satisfied from a usability and excitement point of view [by] just seeing text and widgets."
Mr Turnbull noted that many businesses will simply develop the campaigns they have built up over the last few years and incorporate their desire for video into their new direction, while many will commit wholesale to new techniques.
Hostway was established in 1998 and provides hosting for such things as Software-as-a-Service, and domain name registration.
In a recent survey of SMEs for Connect, the two most important benefits of outsourcing were guaranteed response times and allowing in-house IT staff to concentrate on more strategic issues.
