Spam aimed at Valentine's Day 'on the rise'
Recent research has found that the amount of spam aimed at Valentine's Day lovers is rising quickly in the approach to February 14th.
According to Symantec and the US Computer Energy Readiness Team, many messages are redirecting people to websites which download malicious executable files - namely 'youandme.exe' and 'onlyyou.exe' - onto user computers.
Symantec researcher Dylan Morss compiled a list of the most popular email subject headers to analyse the trends presented by scammers sending fake promotions to inboxes.
He continued: "Holding the top three subject line spots is the male enhancement spam crowd who have really taken to this holiday and quickly adjusted their spiel to exploit it."
The expert added that the "fake gift card gang" and the "replica watch gang" are also fond of aiming their wares at the market during the day for love.
Symantec celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2007 and announced that it was proud to contribute to the world in the capacity that it did.
More than half of small businesses (53 per cent) believe that the most important benefit of outsourcing is guaranteed response times for IT support. London-based Connect conducted the research in 2007.
