Becta launches new IT website
In an attempt to help schools and teachers understand the benefits of technology in the classroom, the Next Generation Learning campaign's new website has been launched this week.
The website provides parents with a range of ideas on how to enhance their child's learning experience, highlighting a number of methods to use technology to get them to reach their potential and make studying enjoyable.
Stephen Crowne, the chief executive of Becta, said that his organisation understood the importance of technology and its positive effects on exam results, yet only one in five schools used IT support to its full potential.
The website, he added, was another way to make sure that teachers and school support staff did not miss out on the benefits technology presented.
"Our children, and all other learners, deserve a truly outstanding education and in the modern world this means we need all schools and learning providers to become effective and innovative users of technology," he concluded.
More than half of small businesses (53 per cent) believe that the most important benefit of outsourcing is guaranteed response times for IT support. London-based Connect conducted the research in 2007.
