Drunk emailing officially addressed

8th October 2008

Those susceptible to sending the odd drunken email to friends or love interests will be stopped before they send their incriminating messages with the release of Mail Goggles.

Google has released the programme and hopes that users will be halted, or at least deterred, from the act which may cause many people to enter the office red-faced on a Monday morning.

Activating itself late at night and on weekends at a time when computer users may be feeling a little worse for wear, Mail Goggles makes alcohol-influenced people answer a series of mathematical questions before their email is processed.

Gmail engineer Jon Perlow said that he had sent messages he should not have.

He continued: "Hopefully Mail Goggles will prevent many of you out there from sending messages you wish you hadn't.

"Like that late-night memo - I mean mission statement - to the entire firm."

Last month, Google announced that its Google Chrome browser would make it easier for many users to access Google products including Gmail.

More than half of small businesses (53%) believe that the most important benefit of outsourcing is guaranteed response times for IT support, London based Connect conducted the research in 2007.
