Google goes retro as it turns 10
Internet services provider Google has rebranded to celebrate its tenth birthday, embracing its original logo to cap off what has been a busy month for the company.
Exampling another custom logo that has become the staple of the Google brand, the retro 1998 design is similar to that of the current company emblem, decorated with a cake, server and party hats for each of the letters.
Speaking in Google's official blog, vice-president of search products and user experience Marissa Meyer detailed the reasons behind why Sergey Brin and Larry Page adopted the ever-changing logo design.
"The Google doodle tradition started a long time ago (in summer 1999, in fact) when Larry and Sergey put a stick figure on the homepage to signify that they were out of the office at Burning Man," she said.
Still in its beta testing stage, Google Chrome was launched at the start of the month to offer users a free browser alternative to such products as Internet Explorer and Firefox.
More than half of small businesses (53%) believe that the most important benefit of outsourcing is guaranteed response times for IT support, London based Connect conducted the research in 2007.
