Virtual job fair launched in Scotland
Scotland is to launch its first virtual jobs fair that will allow jobseekers to virtually attend the event from their own homes.
It is being hosted by recruitment website scotcareers.co.uk and will feature 3D stands where information about companies is available as well as links to websites.
Candidates will also be able to apply for jobs online, according to onrec.com.
Kelly Smith, digital sales manager of Scotcareers, said: "Hosting a virtual jobs fair is an interesting and cost effective new way to reach job seekers."
She added that the company is looking to engage with a growing audience and deliver more value to recruiters that use its website.
Leading recruiters appearing at the fair include, HSBC, RBS, Somerfield and Strathclyde Police.
It will run for the next eight weeks, with new advertisers appearing throughout the run.
Previously Gloucestershire and Leicestershire have set up virtual jobs fairs featuring similar virtual 3D stands.
A recent Connect survey found that the two major concerns about outsourcing services like IT support were 'loss of control' (56 per cent) and 'budget over-runs' (43 per cent)
