Government urges coordinated disaster recovery planning
A coordinated disaster recovery plan across several sectors can help make the country more secure as a whole, it has been claimed.
Speaking to the Business Continuity Expo in London, Bruce Mann explained that a joined up approach will assist all involved, Computerweekly.com reports.
He said: "A whole range of actors need to be brought together in adopting a risk view [of and incident] to decide the way forward."
Speaking to the website, Brett Lovegrove, head of counter-terrorism for City of London Police, agreed.
He said: "Understanding [across any organisation] is mission critical to ensure everyone moves together".
Last week, the organisers of the Business Continuity Expo warned that firms must plan for the affect climate change will have on their day-to-day business.
In a survey, it found that while many companies are aware of the risk it poses to their operations few seem to be successful in putting together a plan to tackle the issue head on.
A recent survey for Connect found that one in ten companies has lost important data as a result of a backup failure. The company has now developed a unique online backup service - http://www.totalrecall.co.uk for SMEs to ensure they can survive any disaster
