Firms plan to up IT security spending
Almost two-thirds of IT decision makers expect to increase their spending on IT security this year, it has been claimed.
Computerweekly.com reports the findings of a Cisco study which revealed that 62 per cent of bosses are set to invest more in IT security this year.
Of this 62 per cent more than half said their IT security spending will increase by more than ten per cent when compared to 2007.
The study found that managers in India (83 per cent), China (68 per cent) and Brazil (68 per cent) are the most likely to increase their IT security spending in the coming year.
A total of 58 per cent of UK based respondents said that they would be increasing spending in this area.
Yesterday, the Benchmark of IT Spending 2008 study revealed that 58 per cent of respondents expect IT expenditure to increase at a greater rate than inflation in the coming year.
A recent Connect survey found that the two major concerns about outsourcing services like IT support were 'loss of control' (56 per cent) and 'budget over-runs' (43 per cent).
