Capgemini supports Google Apps for larger firms

10th September 2007

Consultancy Capgemini is to support Google's software package, Google Apps.

Aimed primarily at the consumer market, Google Apps includes email, word processing, spreadsheet and business presentation programs, and is available over the internet.

Capgemini will help to install Google Apps Premier Edition in larger firms.

The company's Paul Spence told Reuters: "Incorporating Google Apps Premier Edition into our offering is yet one more way that we are helping our clients adopt technological innovations within a robust and tested framework."

Capgemini says it will be able to extend the value of Google Apps for larger organisations "by maximising adoption and fostering real-time collaboration - even for mobile workers, partners and other user groups that were previously disconnected from corporate email and applications".

In short, it will help businesses integrate IT processes, but firms should ensure that they have adequate IT support services in place.

Capgemini employes more than 75,000 people around the world and had global revenues of around $10 billion last year.
