Connect IT superheroes win charity boat race
The annual Chinese Dragon Boat race, held at the Royal Albert Docks, was yesterday won by a team from Connect Support Services.
The boat race, which raises money for the Anthony Nolan Trust, has 21 heats and a grand final for the top three teams.
Connect's team, led by Business Development Director Chris Dunning, beat off stiff competition from seventeen other companies to land the top prize.
Despite some of the competing teams fielding Spiderman, Batman and girls in St Trinians outfits, the Connect team won all three heats and the final as well as recording the fastest time by any boat, completing the course in one minute three seconds. Connect also raised the highest amount of sponsorship for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Mark MacGregor, Connect Chief Executive, added his congratulations to the team: "Everyone knows that Connect IT's team are the brightest in the business but this result shows that we have the strength to take on any challenge - as well as helping a hugely worthwhile charity."
