IT entrepreneur appointed to Conservative front bench team
Adam Afriyie has been appointed by David Cameron to serve as part of the Conservative Front Bench team. Adam has developed a reputation as one of the countrys leading entrepreneurs, setting up a number of successful IT businesses including Connect Support Services and Adfero.
He will be Conservative shadow spokesman for the newly established government department for innovation, universities and skills.
Adam set up Connect in 1993 to provide outsourced IT services providing fixed price computer support primarily for small and medium-sized businesses. Since being elected as MP for Windsor in 2005, Adam has appointed a management team to take over his day to day responsibility for running the company.
Connect has previously been ranked a Virgin Fast-Track 100 business.
According to recent survey by Connect, the two biggest IT headaches for businesses were 'everyday hassles with IT' (37 per cent) and 'security concerns' (32 per cent)
