Connect Women
Connect is an equal opportunities employer and is aiming to increase the proportion of women working at the company in every team from finance and HR to IT engineers.
- Google Girls. Connect has set up an internal company group, nicknamed the Google Girls, for female IT engineers that organises regular events including wine tasting, films, health and beauty events as well as a mentoring scheme for new joiners;
- Flexible working. Connect provides flexible hours, job share and childcare vouchers for returning mothers;
- The 50:50 policy. Connect is aiming to raise the proportion of women staff towards 50%;
- Quiet time. Connect provides a quiet room with flowers, magazines for break times as well as a games room with large plasma screen/playstation;
- Partnership. Connect works in partnership with groups to encourage women to become involved in IT: women in technology, Computer Club for girls and local colleges.
- In 2009, Connect was awarded the UKRC's CEO Charter for encouraging women to work in technology.
