AA Appointments is a highly regarded international recruitment company specialising in permanent and temporary jobs in a range of sectors including travel, hotel, property, shipping and call centres. The company has offices across the UK, Ireland and Australia.
What was their problem?
AA Appointments had been experiencing growing problems with the reliability of its IT system. This was caused by the increasing demands placed on the company’s four servers. As the company had grown, it had become ever more important that every member of staff could access the company’s database and communicate speedily with other staff, clients and job applicants. These difficulties were exacerbated by poor response times in tackling server problems from the company’s previous IT support provider.
How did Connect help?
Connect assessed the reasons for the failures of the existing IT setup and the potential future demands on the system. After discussion with the company, a decision was made to opt for Connect’s Technology Renew service. This option provided new servers, software and helpdesk support at a fixed monthly fee over a three year period. The company retained its existing computer terminals as they did not require upgrading. Cost was a key factor in making the decision. While it would have been possible to make ad hoc changes to upgrade the servers, this would not have resolved the underlying problem. Instead, Connect provided a cost-effective way for the company to avoid having to fund the new hardware and software immediately.
